Home renovations in the Ottawa area
My name is Amaury (Mau) and I live in the Glebe area of Ottawa. My wife and I own Yacksmith & Co., a family-run renovation company. We renovate bathrooms, finish basements and update kitchens across Ottawa.
We welcome clients of every background, including 2SLGBTQ+ individuals and families. We support the people of Ukraine and the people of Palestine.

Our renovations cover the work start to finish: demolition and disposal, framing, insulation and vapour barrier, drywall taped and sanded, tile, trim, doors and paint, and installing the fixtures and finishes you've chosen.
Repairs and finishing
We also take these on as standalone jobs:
- Drywall repair, taped and sanded
- Painting
- Baseboards, casing and trim
- Tile repair, regrout and re-caulk
- Doors: install, adjust, re-hang
- Concrete and walkway patching
How we quote
We visit the property, assess the work, and send you a written, no-obligation quote with the price broken down before anything is booked. The site visit is free whether or not you go ahead.
Labour, materials and fixtures are quoted separately, plus HST. Quotes assume reasonable access and sound existing work. If we open a wall and find a problem that wasn't visible beforehand, we stop, tell you, and re-quote that part before continuing.
Handyman services
We also offer handyman services, such as mounting TVs, mirrors and curtain rods, hanging shelves, assembling flat-pack furniture, moving furniture, clearing gutters, and other small jobs around the house. These are charged by the hour, with a two-hour minimum.
